An invitation to travel is drawing towards the end and the final event on 21st October will bring all the strands together. It has been an amazing journey for artists Caroline Wendling and Sally Stenton, not least because of the enthusiastic support and participation from people in St Ives.
Crossing Bridges is an immersive video installation with the chance to view films from the three previous events: Floating Walk, Bridge Walk and Island Walk. The installation will be on the two floors of the chapel.
Floating walk by Caroline Wendling explored the journey of St. Ivo from Persia to St. Ives. It took place in July with wonderful contributions from children at Thorndown School and many others. The Bridge Walk in August was created by Sally Stenton and inspired by stories of the travels to St. Ives of people now in their 80s and 90s. For the September event, Caroline and Sally handed over the reins to two talented young artists who created a walk and workshop on Holt Island.
All the people and organisations that have help to make the three walks happen are acknowledged on the website where photos and more information can be found. www.invitationtotravel.info <http://www.invitationtotravel.info>
Crossing Bridges will take place at the Bridge Chapel, London Rd, St Ives on Saturday 21st October 2017 between 18:00 - 21:00
The event is free, people of all ages are welcome.
